MEPs will discuss the EU digital COVID-19 certificate to facilitate safe travelling, the 2030 biodiversity strategy and help to counter the consequences of Brexit in the coming week, Gnóthaí an AE.

EU COVID-19 certificate

Tomorrow (26 May), the civil liberties committee votes on the introduction of the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate, tar éis déileáil neamhfhoirmiúil reached by the Parliament and the Council on 20 May. The certificate will include information about vaccination, tests and recovery from the disease, making it easier and safer for Europeans to travel le linn na paindéime.

The environment committee votes Friday (28 May) on its response to the EU's 2030 biodiversity strategy which aims to address the main drivers of biodiversity loss and establish protected areas covering at least 30% of the EU's land and sea area.

Parliament President David Sassoli met EU leaders on Monday (24 May) to discuss the EU’s response to the coronavirus crisis, the battle against climate change and relations with the UK and Russia. He will give a press conference this morning (25 May).
